Dawn. A woman rises
From her bed where all night

Her window, grey fades
From the world, a bud
Breaks free, spreads shyly
From still green leaves. Sun

Is up, things are moving
She bends into that space
Where speech has hidden
For so many years. Quiet

On lips where shadows
Sleep, light comes into the
Room, the morning hands
Her arsenal of words.
